TAEKWONDO

Which “means” the way of the hand and foot”. This martial art uses powerful hand strikes,
blocks and kicks as a means of self-defense. Taekwondo develops the mind, body and
spirit and encourages a balance of knowledge, strength and honesty. The program is
taught in an environment of self-confidence and a respect for oneself and others. Any student
new to the program, youth or adult, must take the Orientation Class. Completing the
class will place the student in the appropriate skill level class. Marc Beller, a 7th Degree
Black Belt and certified instructor for the USCTA, is the master instructor. Mr. Beller is
also an elementary school teacher. Henry Hathaway, a 5th Degree Black Belt and certified
instructor, is the head instructor.

TAEKWONDO CLASS

Marc has been instructing Taekwondo at the YMCA since 1988. Henry Hathaway, a 6th Degree Black Belt, is the certified head instructor.

Ages: 6 years old–Adult
Session 2: January 2-May 19, 2017

Mondays and Thursdays
Beginner Class (White & Orange Belts): 6:30pm-7:15pm
Intermediate Class (Green & Blue Belts): 7:15pm-8:00pm
Advanced Class (Brown & Black Belts): 8:00pm-8:45pm
Friday: All Belts: 7:05pm-8:05pm (No Taekwondo on August 26th, the facility will be closed for maintenance)
Fee: Member $30   Non Member $80
Taekwondo Class (Mon. and Thurs.) is located in Studio 3 at the YMCA. Friday Taekwondo Class is located in Studio 1 at the YMCA.

TAEKWONDO ORIENTATION
Interested in learning the sport of Taekwondo? All interested new participants are required to take the Taekwondo Orientation class prior to enrolling in the regular Taekwondo Class. Taekwondo basics will be taught in Orientation to prepare potential students for advancing in Taekwondo. No uniforms or additional items needed for Orientation.

Taekwondo Orientation Class are located in Studio 1 at the YMCA. Students successfully completing Orientation Class are required to pay full class registration fee.
